About Us

Troop 443 is a boy run troop that is located in Covina, California.

Troop 443 has been helping boys become good men for over 60 years. We teach them typical scout skills like camping, cooking and first aid. We also teach them how to help their community, to work with others, and to become effective leaders. It is no accident we have so many older boys, so many Eagle Scouts. It is confirmation of the methods and traditions handed down for 60 years, but more than that, it is a testimony to the hard work put in by our adult leaders, and more importantly, by our boys.

Scoutmaster’s Message: “Scouting is about providing the opportunity and guidance to help boys develop and learn to be leaders. The method scouting employs to foster this growth, is to put the boy scouts into situations with tools where they can attain the experiences necessary to develop leadership skills. Scouting allows the boys to lead their own troop, and while it is often difficult as adults to witness the boys try and sometimes fail in these endeavors, it is essential to their growth that we allow this to happen. When a scout accomplishes a task that he has initiated, planned, and executed, it leaves an indelible mark of achievement on his heart and soul that will last a lifetime.” As Scout Master, I have found it to be very fulfilling to watch, as these boys transition into fine young men of high morals, integrity and character. Leaders, who through their scouting experience learn to “lead by example,” and are better prepared to face life’s challenges. “Troop 443 has been helping boys learn the tenets of leadership for over 60 years.  The Troop is boy led, and as such allows the boy scouts to become leaders. There have been many boys that have benefitted from the positive Scouting experience gained here, and over 200 Eagle Scouts that have risen from Troop 443! We expect that in the next 60 years there will be at least that many more! These achievements are a testimony to the hard work and dedication of our scouts and adult leaders alike, as well as the methods and traditions handed down over these past 60 years.”
