Adult Leaders
Scoutmaster
The Scoutmaster is the adult leader responsible for the image and program of the troop. The Scoutmaster and assistant Scoutmasters and works directly with the Scouts.
- Notify Scouts and families of Troop events and activities.
Parent Committee Chair
- Organize the committee to see that all functions are delegated, coordinated and completed.
- Maintain a close relationship with the Chartered Organization Rep and Scoutmaster.
- Prepare, call and preside over a monthly Troop Committee/Parent meeting.
- Ensure Troop representation at monthly Roundtable meetings.
- Secure trained individuals for camp leadership.
Committee Treasurer
- Handle all Troop funds and pay bills.
- Maintain checking and savings accounts.
- Maintain Scout Accounts.
- Preparation of the annual Troop budget.
- Report to the Troop Committee at each meeting.
Committee Secretary
- Keeps minutes of meetings and sends out committee meeting notices.
- Handles publicity.
- At each meeting, report the minutes of the previous meeting.
Assistant Scoutmaster
Assistant Scoutmasters work directly with the Scouts and Assist the Scoutmaster
- Assist with Scoutmaster Conferences
- Guide the Junior Leadership
- Attend outings as a trained leader
Advancement Chair
- Encourages Scouts to advance in Rank
- Help arrange Troop quarterly Boards of Review.
- Develop and maintain a merit badge counselor list.
- Report to the council when a successful Board of Review is held, and secure Merit Badges and Certificates.
- Report to the Troop committee at each meeting.
Merchandise Chair
- Maintain inventory of Class B merchandise
- Order Class B merchandise when needed
- Sell Class B merchandise to Scouts and family
- Coordinate with Treasurer to maintain a record of unsold inventory and products sold
- Remind Scouts and family during Summer Camp and Camporee season to purchase new Class B, if needed.
Court of Honor Chair
- Coordinate Court of Honor ceremony.
- Creates Court of Honor Program.
- Organize Court of Honor set up and clean up with Scout families
- Collect and organize Raffle prizes for Summer Court of Honor
- Organize food and decorations for Summer Court of Honor
- Coordinate with Advancement Chair to ensure all awards are present for Court of Honor
New Parent Liaison
- Welcome and inform new Families of Troop procedures
- Answer any questions from new parents
Re-charter Chair
- Sends out Notification to Families regarding Re-charter fees and any necessary paperwork.
- Remind and maintain records of Parent’s YPT training.
- Arrange for charter review and re-charter annually.
- Report to the Scoutmaster and Parent Committee Chair on Re-charter process.
Website Chair
- Maintains and update Troop Website
- Updates Troop Calendar
- Maintain Troop Email list and weekly email notification
